Rather than just building orphanages for children, SaveAfricaNow recognizes that children will flourish better within a family unit. Therefore an emphasis is placed on finding adoptive parents for orphans. These adoptive parents are then empowered, so that they eventually will become self-sufficient.

By helping adoptive parents through education and loans, new businesses are started and families are empowered. As the old adage implies; if you give someone a fish, it will feed them for a day; but if you teach someone how to fish, it will feed them for life. Our adopt-a-business program is designed to empower families for life. It also serves those orphans, who have finished school and desires to pursue business ventures.

For about $350 - 400 (depends on location), SaveAfricaNow is able to help a new business get started. Some of the funds are later paid back by the recipients. The funds are then reinvested, and used to help other adoptive parents to be empowered to start new businesses.

How It Works:

1. Our local SaveAfricaNow representatives identify candidates for the program

2. Each candidate then applies in person and meets with a local SaveAfricaNow representative for an initial interview to determine eligibility

3. Once candidates are accepted into the program, they are enrolled in several basic courses including Discover the Greatness Inside You; How To Manage Finances; How To Start a Business

4. Upon the successful completion of these courses, they are given a loan (an average of $200).

5. They are also assigned a counselor who works with them in the beginning

6. Participants are also offered ongoing courses that empowers them for sustained financial growth.

Economic Development:

Our goal is also to empower orphans by creating a sustainable economic development program that offers long term financial growth to a community. This program would take into consideration the power of working together to bring prosperity to an area.
